Italy Prepare for Crucial Euro 2020 Clash With Austria

Italy began their preparations for their Euro 2020 last-16 clash with Austria on Saturday and there were three things spotted.

Firstly, the session took place at Coverciano, Italy’s training base, and was open to the media for the first 15 minutes.

Secondly, there were no major injury concerns, with all 26 players in the squad taking part in the session.

Barella taking on leadership role, Immobile and Insigne looking sharp

Leadership from Barella

Nicolo Barella is taking on a leadership role in the Italy squad and has been vocal in his support of head coach Roberto Mancini.

The Inter Milan midfielder has been one of Italy’s best players at Euro 2020 and is expected to start again against Austria.

Insigne and Immobile looking sharp

Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne both looked sharp in training and will be looking to add to their goal tallies at Euro 2020.

Immobile has scored two goals in the tournament so far, while Insigne has scored one.

Italy will face Austria in the last 16 of Euro 2020 on Saturday, June 26.
