Ezekiel Elliott Returns to the Dallas Cowboys

Official Agreement Reached on Draft Night

The Dallas Cowboys announced on the first day of the draft that Ezekiel Elliott will be returning to the team after playing for the New England Patriots last season. The announcement came after the Cowboys met with Elliott and his agent earlier in the day.

The Cowboys' Running Game Bolstered

Elliott's return provides a significant boost to the Cowboys' running game. The 28-year-old running back has been one of the most productive in the NFL, averaging over 1,000 yards per season and scoring 64 touchdowns in his career. He will join a backfield that also includes Tony Pollard, who had a breakout season in 2022.

By not drafting a running back in the draft, the Cowboys made it clear that they have confidence in Elliott and Pollard to lead their rushing attack. Elliott's presence will also free up Pollard to make more plays as a receiver out of the backfield.

A Positive Sign for the Cowboys

Elliott's return is a positive sign for the Cowboys, who are looking to rebound from a disappointing 6-11 season in 2022. With Elliott back in the fold, the Cowboys have a more complete and competitive team heading into the 2023 season.
